Heights Platform will turn 7 years old in 2025!

Over these past 7 years, the online course and community platform has seen hundreds of updates, big and small, and welcomed thousands of creators from all over the world.

In 2024 alone, Heights Platform released 337 minor updates and 9 major ones.

Ironically, the same exact number of updates we released in 2023 (not on purpose)! This shows a continued commitment to improving the platform to provide the best possible solution to creators.

The focus of 2024 was, without a doubt, AI.

At Heights Platform, we pride ourselves on our unique approach to AI.

We believe that AI should be a tool designed to assist creators, not replace them. And we see in AI a way for even the smallest of creators to be able to compete with bigger companies, who have access to a larger workforce and resources.

Through a simple Google search, you can find hundreds of tools that employ AI to generate content on your behalf. As a result, many creators know AI as merely a tool that can write text for you.

Heights AI - Product Generator

In Heights Platform, you can now create an entire product offer with AI, just by describing your idea in your own words.

Simply describe your vision, and let Heights AI create your products for you right within your account.

If you're unsure how to practically structure your knowledge business idea in Heights, the AI Product Generator can help.

You can explain what you want to offer in your own words - and watch as the AI generates courses, digital products, community channels, challenges, and more for you!

You start by describing your business idea in your own words.

For example, you can type something like, "I want to teach courses on how to play guitar and offer a monthly group coaching call to my students + I want to sell music sheets."

Then, you set up the pricing and branding of your offer.

At this point, Heights AI provides personalized recommendations on how to grow your business and succeed with your idea and generates a ready-made outline for your course.

At the click of a button, Heights AI generates your offer with the products you want (courses, community channels, digital products, challenges...) inside your Heights account!

And that's it! All that is left for you to do is add your unique content. This is something that AI could do, but we believe that the real value of a learning program comes from your special experiences and knowledge, and it should not be entirely AI-generated!

Heights AI - Web Page Generator

Once you have your offer, it’s time to bring it in front of the eyes of potential customers.

With Heights AI, you can instantly generate professional, high-converting web pages for your products.

Our AI takes into account best practices in marketing and user experience to create a sales page that effectively communicates the value of your offer.

Just input the key details, such as your offer details and any copy or content you might already have, and Heights AI generates your web page.

And not just the text and a rough outline of the page... Heights AI actually creates a real web page for you, and designs it the way you want - all inside your Heights account (it is even already linking to your product's checkout page!).

You can specify which elements you want to include on the page (for example, if you want to add a video or showcase your reviews).

After you select a preferred color theme and style, Heights AI will generate an entire web page for you!

Heights AI already knows which product you are creating a web page for (for example, the offer, course or bundle you just created), so it shapes the design accordingly and even links all your buttons to the appropriate checkout page.

You don't have to know how to code or even have any design skills to generate stunning websites!

In 2024, we released multiple updates to this feature, in addition to the AI updates to the Web Page Builder.

Creators now have a bigger library of stunning templates to choose from, making it easier than ever to create professional web pages manually.

Once you pick your favorite template, you can tailor every detail of your site with robust theme customization options, ensuring your brand stands out.

Finally, our updated style editing tools give you more control over typography, colors, and layouts so your pages look exactly how you envision them.

Heights AI - Chat

Heights AI Chat is the "headquarters" of all of Heights Platform's AI tools. This is where you can access most of the tools described in this article, chat with Heights AI and instruct it on what to help you with.

This feature was initially released in 2023, but it has seen multiple improvements and updates this year that are worth mentioning.

You can use Heights AI Chat to:

• Chat with AI and ask questions about course creation, marketing and using Heights Platform
• Generate assets for your business (ex, your online course description)
• Give commands to Heights AI and have it perform actions on your behalf
• Generate charts from your analytics
• Jump to various AI tools inside Heights Platform

One really useful feature within Heights AI chat is the product editor. If you want to change some settings but are not sure how to do it, you can ask the AI with the click of a button.

For example, in the AI chat, you can ask Heights AI to "change the pricing of your course to $200" or "set the landing page of your bundle to published," etc...

Simply write what you want the AI to do and confirm the changes. Heights AI will instantly perform your request!

When you chat with Heights AI, you can also ask it to generate visual charts for you!

Heights AI can now generate charts for orders, sign-ups, enrollments, completions on lessons, and views on lessons.

Ask to generate a chart for a specific period of time or a custom range (up to 2 years back). Try asking, "Show me sign-ups for the last 6 months", or "How many people completed lessons from September 2023 until today?"...

Heights AI - Coach

Your personal AI mentor, designed to guide you through course creation, content strategy, and audience engagement, offering actionable advice tailored to your needs.

Heights AI Coach is a tool designed specifically for creators who excel in their craft but struggle with marketing.

This tool acts like a personal business coach, guiding you hand in hand through the complexities of promoting your online business.

You can chat with your AI Coach about your business goals and current challenges. In return, it provides you with a step-by-step action plan tailored to your needs.

It’s like having a marketing expert available 24/7, who knows everything about your unique situation and can guide you to success, but without the hefty price tag.

Every week, the AI Coach will send you marketing tasks designed to help you grow your audience and reach your goals. The service is private and personalized, so the strategies it provides are unique to your business.

In 2024, we updated the AI Coach to be able to provide more detailed tasks to creators. Creators can now expand a task to get more information and step by step guides.

The coaching area also got a new look, with a tasks section where creators can add their own to-dos and check off completed tasks, as well as add their own notes alongside the AI Coach ones.

Heights AI - Lesson Review

This tool allows you to improve your online course lessons with AI-generated insights and recommendations. It analyzes your content and suggests ways to enhance clarity, engagement, and effectiveness.

Not only can it read the text in your lessons, but it can also watch the videos you upload and offer recommendations!

When analyzing your lesson content, the AI also takes into consideration the topic of your whole course.

It then offers recommendations on what to add to your lesson, what can be improved or explained better, and generates a few questions that your students might have.

AI Quizzes

Many of our creators have been asking for a way to generate quizzes on the platform. Now, you can add multiple-choice quizzes to your lessons!

You can choose to create a quiz manually or have Heights AI review the content of your entire course and lessons and automatically generate a quiz for your students!

When students take the quiz, they will be notified of the result and the correctness of their answers. Once they have answered all the quiz questions correctly, they will be able to continue with the course.

More Heights Platform Updates

Beyond AI and web-building features, we’ve rolled out several updates to enhance your overall experience on Heights Platform:

Student Dashboards

Our updated dashboards provide your students with a more intuitive and engaging learning experience.

You can now completely change the look and feel of your main account home page (previously the "Courses" view).

The Student Dashboard is the first view that your students see when they sign up or log in to your program.

You can customize your dashboard to showcase your main products and courses, events, community posts, calendar and other custom information.

The dashboard can help you provide a better onboarding experience to new students and introduce them to your business's main products and events. Students can then understand at a glance where to start, how to access the community and how to stay updated on news and events.

Creators can edit your dashboard to their liking and choose which elements to showcase and how to structure the different blocks.

Free Digital Products

You can now offer free digital products to use as lead magnets. Previously, a digital product could only be sold for a one-time fee or added to a bundle and granted to students.

Now, you can set the price of digital products to be free.

PDF Lessons

Heights Platform has a new course lesson type: PDF lessons.

This means you can upload a PDF for your students to view directly on a course lesson. You can upload a PDF in a video lesson to make it viewable for students and upload it as a "download" as well if you want your students to be able to download it at the same time.

Coupon Reports

Track the performance of your discounts with detailed coupon reports, helping you refine your promotional strategies.

You can now view reports of a coupon's usage over time and see a list of the redemptions for a given coupon.

When viewing the reports on a coupon's detail page, you have the option of exporting the report as a CSV. This makes it easy to track how many people are using your coupon codes!

Course Lesson Comments

Foster engagement and interaction with new commenting capabilities for course lessons.

Creators now have the option to add a comment section under the lessons of regular courses - just like inside a challenge!

Students taking the course can leave a comment and like other people's comments.

This feature adds even more engagement to courses and helps students learn and interact with their peers, even when they aren't inside the community area.

New Navigation Design

Our redesigned navigation makes it easier to find and use all the tools you need to grow your business.

In 2024, we have updated the design of the vertical menu bar inside creators' accounts. The navigation is now collapsable, and it will remember your preferred state. On narrow screens, it automatically collapses to offer more space.

The collapsed version of the menu is now also accessible from the lesson editor, blog editor, certificate editor, and user edit pages, making it easier to get back to other creator dashboard areas in one click!

Bundle Membership Setting

Manage memberships within bundles with greater flexibility and control, making it simple to offer tiered access to your content.

By default, when students purchase or are granted a bundle (a collection of products), they receive only the products included in the bundle at the time of purchase.

Before this feature, if you added new products to the bundle later, "old" students would not have access to them unless specifically granted access.

You can now optionally auto-grant access to future products by choosing "Make Membership" on any of your bundles.

More Small Updates:

• Leaderboards - display a leaderboard of your top 5 students on your member list page based on who has the highest number of points.
• Web Page Revision History - You can now load and restore web pages from previous saved versions. Load a version to see what your page used to look like, and save to restore your page to that version.
• UI Update - More modern interface frame to fit other changes over the last quarter.
• Cart Abandonment Email Timing - Cart recovery emails are now sent 4 hours after a cart is abandoned, instead of 24 hours.
• New Creator Dashboard Navigation - Redesigned navigation with a recent links section to help you focus with more breathing room.
• Reports for Digital Products - Generate detailed reports for your digital products.
• Categories for Digital Products - You can now add digital products to your product categories so students can find them easier.
• Mobile Creator Experience - More pages of the creator experience are now accessible via mobile, allowing you to adjust and analyze better on the go.
• Indonesian Language Support - The student experience is now available in Indonesian.
• What's New Page - view a changelog to keep up with all of our updates from your creator dashboard by clicking the top right dropdown and selecting "What's New".

2024 was also a year of community-building and connection through events and new initiatives:

The Creator’s Adventure podcast continued to inspire, featuring interviews with top creators and industry experts.

It is a weekly video podcast in which our founder and host, Bryan McAnulty, interviews creators from all over the world to hear their stories and discover their secrets to success.

The Creator's Adventure reveals how entrepreneurs from all niches turned their passions into successful online businesses so you can learn from their journeys.

The show goes live every Tuesday, and we interview creators who started their adventures from zero and worked their way to success today.

Towards the end of 2024, The Creator's Adventure took a different approach to delivering its content. Most episodes are now only released on audio platforms like Apple Podcasts and Spotify, while only special interviews are released on YouTube.

Heights AI Survey

We conducted a community-wide survey to gather feedback and ensure our tools align with your needs and goals.

This survey, in addition to collecting feedback about our product, presented an opportunity to better understand how creators use and perceive AI.

From the survey response, we could draw the following conclusions:

1. Most creators are interested in integrating AI tools into their business and workflow but are not sure how to access the tools or use artificial intelligence the right way
2. Many creators want AI to take on a more helpful role in day-to-day operations instead of completely taking over. In other words, creators who leverage AI are looking for an assistant to help them speed up their workflow and handle manual tasks but do not wish to delegate creative tasks at the core of their business.
3. Even though Heights Platform released multiple AI tools to assist creators, many of our customers were unaware of Heights AI, which underlines the importance of strong communication and effective positioning of these tools within the platform.

Thanks to the feedback and requests we received after the survey, we were able to release Heights AI 2, and build many tools according to our creators' preferences.
