Recent Updates

Below is a summary of the major updates we released since the Spring of 2020. To get notified of every update, make sure you are subscribed to our email newsletter!

2022 Feature Updates:

Completion Certificate Designer - design and issue certificates to your students! Issue certificates either manually or automatically upon the completion of a specific course.
Discuss Communities - Updated design for our discuss community feature. The navigation, posts, and other areas of the interface have a more modern and consistent style.
Discuss Moderation - Each student now has a moderation profile view where you can adjust a student's overall moderation status.
Free .academy Domain! - In partnership with Name.com, we're offering all of our customers a free .academy domain for 1 year ($37.99 value). Simply go to the custom domain area of your account settings to register, no credit card is required and the domain will automatically connect to Heights for you, so there's no setup needed!
Email Campaigns - The email campaign feature is now out of early access and available for everyone!
The Creator's Adventure - Our new interview show, live every Tuesday, where we interview creators around the world, hearing their stories about growing an online business. The Creator's Adventure
Link Sharing - Added copy landing and checkout links to course/bundle/digital product page dropdowns under the cover image. Previously the only way for creators to find and copy these links easily was via the Product List tab. The design of these dropdowns has also been cleaned up visually.
Video Uploads - Increased Video upload limit to 2.5GB per video from 2GB. For most lessons, shorter videos work best, but for those cases where it makes sense to upload a longer video, you can now do so easier.
Projects 2.0 - Upload resources on your project for your students to download. Up to 10 resources can be added to each project. Upload zip folders if you need to add more.
Project Post Attachments - Students can upload attachments to posts
Assignment Answer Attachments - Students can upload attachments to assignments
Lesson Answers - Ability to view all answers for a specific lesson from the lesson page.
Virus Scanning of Attachments - Any content uploaded by students is scanned for viruses upon upload to better protect creators and their students
Email Notifications - Added a separate "subscription cancelation" email template to be sent to students who cancel a subscription in your program
Creator Email Notifications - New notification emails for student answers and comments, and the ability to adjust email preferences for each email type when going to your "Edit Profile" page.
Editing Improvements - Lessons can now be created directly inside modules in the climb outline and lesson editor. Modules can also be created from the lesson editor directly for an uninterrupted experience.
Climb Outline - The collapse state of your courses and modules on the climb outline is now saved as you edit, making it much easier for creators with hundreds or thousands of lessons to navigate.
Module URLs - Click to copy a link to a module in order to direct students to a specific module of your course.
Creator Dashboard Menu Design - Available pages in a section of the creator dashboard are now shown on hover of the creator admin menu for easier and faster navigation.
"Challenge" Pricing Plan - A new entry-level plan allowing creators to start using Heights for as low as $19/month (paid annually) and offering the ability to create a single challenge course.

FIXES:

Fixed an issue where under certain conditions discussion post notification emails might be missing some of the links added to the post text.
Fixes for some monochrome and extremely bright custom color theme options.
Various localization fixes (we're planning another bigger round of fixes and improvements soon)
Fix translation issue in Traditional Chinese in part of the password reset process
Fixes and improvements for tracking purchase conversions with our Facebook ads integration
Student "Login" link under checkout button will ensure the student is taken back to the checkout process after logging in
Many other fixes and minor adjustments!

2020-2021 Feature Update Summary:

Challenges - A whole new way to sell and share what you know. Create challenges with specific calendar launch dates, lesson content that expires after a set number of days, automated email sequences built-in to match each of your lesson releases, a comment feature on challenge lessons, and the ability to upsell courses, bundles, or digital products after a challenge is complete. (No other tool has a dedicated challenge feature like Heights, and many creators resort to using FB groups to run a challenge which means they struggle to get all of their audience to see their challenge content, and that if they want to re-run the challenge in the future it is a huge hassle to reupload and reschedule all the posts.) Bundles - Put any combination of courses, digital products, message boards, and projects into a bundle sold with any combination of one-time, installment plan, or subscription payment plans. This combined with the “hidden product” feature we released around the same time means that creators can build any number of offers, pricing tiers, or pricing packages for their courses and products. (This was huge for AppSumo users because previously sumolings from the original deal had to buy extra codes for additional Heights accounts to sell different kinds of content since they were restricted to offering a single membership collection inside Heights, now as many pricing and production combinations as needed can be created in a single account.)
Affiliate Program - Complete, built-in affiliate program software allowing creators to have affiliates inside their program who can help to refer new students for a commission.
Blog - Create your public blog with Heights to run your entire online presence from one place.
Student Notifications - Editable email notification templates
Email Marketing - Send Bulk Email Announcements and Email Campaigns to Students
Custom Color Themes - Easily design your own custom color themes and adjust program fonts without code!
Language Localization for 20 languages! Professionally translated and verified, not google translate

Customizable Author Permissions - Plus the ability to purchase additional author seats for $11/month
Sell Community Access - Ability for creators to sell and grant access to community discussion boards
